Take the rise out of growing energy prices
The first step in reducing your energy bills alongside your carbon footprint is to have your home independently assessed for sustainability solutions.
This free assessment (worth over $250) through the Green Loans program will cover everything from how you can create your own energy from renewable sources, through to wasting less energy with things like more efficient light globes.
Each assessment takes around 1.5 hours to complete, and The Green Energy Shop can arrange for an independent assessor to come out and visit on your behalf. Simply call us on 1300 170 668 or contact us and we’ll do the rest.
You can view more information about assessments on our home sustainability assessments page, or find out more about the Green Loans program helping all Australians to reduce climate change.

Insulation
For every $1,000 that you spend on heating, $350 goes straight through an uninsulated ceiling. To help combat this wasted energy, the Australian government has provided a rebate of up to $1,200 so that renters and home-owners can insulate their properties.
With the average cost of insulating a home falling between $1,000 and $1,100, in many cases this will mean that the installation is completely free.
The rebate fund is limited, and with 500,000 households already taking advantage of the offer, you should contact us now to make sure that you don’t miss out.

Solar electricity
Solar panels come in a range of sizes and designs to suit every purpose, and are one of the simplest ways to generate your own energy using the sun’s clean, natural light resource.
We have a number of recommended systems available in our shop area, or you can find out more about the benefits of solar. There are also government incentives for installing solar, details of which can be found on our solar credits page.

Solar hot water systems
Electric water heaters account for up to 25% of the energy usage in an average Australian home. A heat pump or gas / electric boosted solar hot water system can reduce both your energy bills and your carbon footprint.
Our shop offers a range of efficient and reliable solar water heater systems, many of which are eligible for a government rebate of up to $1,600. You can also contact us at any time for more information, or view more information on our solar hot water systems page.
